Caroline
Jake, Petra, Boo & Diesel
I started flyball in 2008 and was hooked long before being invited to join the team! I run Jake and Petra in open comp and am trying to run Betty-Boo in starters and have almost given up on Diesel (neither are natural flyball dogs!) At the moment i spend my time between Oxford and the North so do a lot of travelling to shows. I also run Betty in an Oxfordshire based team -the Mad Mutts. I'm well known for my love of team kit, and love to have as much as possible - doesn't matter which team its from!
dob - 2003 Rottweiler Petra
Flyball debute - 2009 Dolphins at Eastham
Retired May 2013 after reaching her Flyball Dog Advanced Award and as the 5th Highest point scoring Rottie
I'm Petra and I have no idea how I spent the first few years of my life but when I was taken to the pound as a stray i was fully grown. Mum volunteered at the pound and she said I’d be great company for her other rottie – Diesel. So, after 7 days when nobody else came to collect me, I went to my new home. Mum sent me and Diesel to boarding school for 4 whole weeks so that we could learn how to be perfect ladies and gentlemen! I admit, I was sadly lacking in the lady-like part. I did, however, pass all the obedience schooling with flying colours! As Mum had a very dangerous job, we were both tested at the school to see if we would be brave enough to protect her at work. I failed that part too. Diesel passed though and was fully trained up to work with Mum. The following year we tried our paws at agility. I couldn’t do that either. My ‘perfect’ brother was great of course. But then came.... FLYBALL!! For once, I RULE and Diesel DROOLS! Diesel was totally hopeless at flyball and at last I’d found something I was good at! My days of running sub 5.5 may be over and having reached my Flyball Dog Advanced in 2013 i am now officially retired ( its not easy when you're at least 9 yrs old and weigh 40kg!). I still love my flyball though and hope to keep playing as a sixth dog :)

Jake GSD dob - Sept 2006
Flyball debute - 2010 PODS at Mona
Latest Award - Flyball Dog Ice Blue Moon (May 2013)
Jake loves flyball and is a complete nincompoop anywhere near a flyball ring. He's known for his constant yapping and ability to break at least one jump at every show :( Jake is a fairly unusually GSD in that he doesn't tire much and can maintain his speed throughout the the day. We've got to be careful when he has his 'flyball head' on, as he'd run with a broken leg if he could! Jake has recently become only the second GSD to attain the Ice Blue Moon award and is now aiming to be the 1st GSD to earn Platinum :)

Staffordshire Bull Terrier dob - Aug 2008 Betty-Boo
Flyball debute - Betty runs in starters
Betty Boo is a very spoilt staffy with no working drive whatsoever. If she had her way then the humans would retrieve the ball for her when she requires it. Measuring in at 8", Boo had the potential to be a useful height dog, but as she doesn't run in the rain, mud, cold, wind, snow..... or bring a tennis ball........ She has however achieved her recent goal of running more than one leg per race, thus her new target is to bring back a tennis ball rather than a stuffed penguin, pink elephant, hedghog or her favourite winnie the pooh!
